I just wanted to let all the Brides and Grooms out there know that I will NOT be at any of the bridal shows this month. I know, it's a shocker. I have a bunch of reasons why I will not be there. Most of them are purely business reasons. Bridal shows cost a bunch, in money and time. I also firmly believe that a bridal show is not the right place to talk to brides. It's crazy at bridal shows. It's loud, crowded, and there are so many vendors there that you won't remember who is who. I am also not like other photographers. I am not a salesman, pressuring you to sign a contract before the bridal show is over. I would rather meet with couples in my home. Talk about their wedding day without having to shout over the loud noise of a bridal show. Show them pictures of my kids and introduce them to my two dogs. Then just for fun I show couples a slideshow of a recent wedding and pull out some wedding albums for them to browse. I want couples to hire me because they truly enjoy my photography and me as a person. Not because I was the cheapest at a bridal show. I'm not cheap. :) In the end I want the couples that hire me to think of me as a friend.
